Jean Munn, K.C.
Jean practices exclusively in the areas of Immigration and Employment. She is experienced in all facets of immigration law including deportation matters, refugee law, family applications and permanent residence. She is particularly passionate about dealing with incorrect decisions from immigration decision makers. She has appeared before all immigration tribunals, the Federal Court and Federal Court of Appeal as well as all levels of Alberta courts.
Jean is a former Member of the Alberta Human Rights Commission and has written numerous reported decisions. She now advises both employers and employees on matters involving allegations of discrimination in the workplace.
Jean is fluent in the Spanish language and provides a broad range of counsel and referrals for her Spanish speaking clientele.
Jean is a fourth generation Calgarian and completed her undergraduate and law degrees at the University of Calgary. After completing her articles with the Alberta Court of Appeal and being called to the Bar in 1989, she opened her own independent law practice. Jean joined Caron & Partners in January of 1997 and became a partner in 2003. In 2016, Jean was appointed Queen’s Counsel.
