Dean Hutchison

Dean is the leader of the firm’s Litigation Practice Group and has over 20 years of experience advising on insolvency, restructuring, and commercial disputes. His practice includes receiverships, foreclosures, bankruptcies, proposals to creditors, forbearance agreements, and matters under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act and the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act.

He also advises on banking and commercial lending matters, acting for both lenders and borrowers in financing, security structuring, and the preparation of loan and security documentation.

Dean’s litigation practise includes shareholder disputes, landlord and tenant matters, contractual disputes, creditor-debtor issues, and real property disputes. He regularly resolves matters through negotiation, mediation, arbitration, and judicial dispute resolution, as well as through the courts.

He has appeared before all levels of court in Alberta, as well as courts in Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and British Columbia, and various administrative tribunals.
