Legal Assistant – Corporate, Commercial & Estates
Caron & Partners LLP is a mid-sized Calgary law firm dedicated to providing clients with quality legal services and strategic counselling for over 55 years. We offer a broad range of legal services across a variety of practice areas.
Our firm is growing, and we are looking for a Legal Assistant to join our team, supporting our Corporate, Commercial, and Wills & Estates departments.
Duties & Responsibilities
Duties will include, but are not limited to:
Prepare and manage legal documents related to incorporations, reorganizations, share and asset purchases, and commercial real estate transactions.
Support estate planning processes, including trusts, wills, powers of attorney, and personal directives.
Assist with estate administration, including probate applications and executor support.
Maintain and organize client files, calendars, and correspondence.
Liaise professionally with clients, courts, and government agencies.
Perform general administrative duties, including billing, file opening and closing, collections, and document management.
Skills & Experience Required
Legal Assistant certification from an accredited institution.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate and commercial transactions.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in estate planning and estate administration.
Experience with the Court of King’s Bench electronic surrogate portal and forms.
Experience with Unity is considered an asset.
Commercial business lending background is considered an asset.
PPR certification is considered an asset.
Clio experience is considered an asset.
Self-motivated with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and training.
